Anchormill has been building quality family homes for a quarter of a century. It’s a small family-run business that concentrates on building homes that are a bit different. We try to provide you with something we would like ourselves… something different, something unique, light, bright and warm, and with great value for money. We try very hard to give you something more than you can get elsewhere, a personal touch … and that has proved to be popular with customers and a good way of doing business.
Locations
We are very, very careful about choosing our sites. Our latest, Oakfields, Duffryn Oaks, Pencoed has been carefully assessed from your perspective. It is really convenient. It has great communications – close to Junction 35 of the M4 motorway and a mainline railway station with a park and ride facility – which mean short commuting times to Cardiff, Bridgend and Swansea and also close to great leisure facilities and the South Wales Heritage Coast. All the everyday considerations are close by … shops, supermarkets, schools, leisure facilities and so on. It is also big enough to be a community in its own right.
Award-winning Design
We employ award-winning architects to design our homes at Duffryn Oaks Pencoed. So we keep up-to-date with latest trends in 21st century living. Features such as locally sourced natural stone and special windows and doors all add to an exclusive ambiance. Each home is then crafted individually to make it unique.. a change here, a change there to suit that house, that space, that location, and by constantly making changes we ensure each house is better than the last. Our latest designs allow flexibility with open plan options whilst providing individuals with their “own space”. Anchormill is a leader in these trends.

We use quality materials and we try to source locally. For example, our latest homes use stone from Gaens Quarry, South Cornelly, Bridgend.

We are known for quality. We have won an award for it! We are very fussy about who will build your home. We have used the same building team for more than 10 years and the people who will build your home are all time-served craftsmen whom we know and trust.

Our work is, of course, also guaranteed under the National House Builders’ Council (NHBC) ten-year guarantee. We pride ourselves that valuers instructed by mortgage lenders invariably don’t question the underlying value of the investment.
Future-proofing
We do, of course, build your home so that it will last. But what of your family’s foreseeable future? We try to think of that as well. Its quite possible your family will grow and you’ll need more space… but moving is really expensive and disruptive. In some of our homes your loft will be built in the traditional way with attic trusses instead of the usual modern lattice-work way. The latter is cheaper but the former means you can easily and cheaply convert your loft some time in the future into further space for bedrooms or a home office.. a hang out for teenagers, or an escape from them! We try to think of everything.
Individual specifications
Wherever we can we will build and finish to your specification.. colours, kitchens and bathrooms can be changed to your spec if you reserve in time. Sometimes we can make more substantial changes but that can involve planning permissions which can be very time consuming. Let us know what you want and we will see what we can do. We are very flexible!
